Poetry Month



This is a photograph showing the proposed toddler furniture in the Children's room of the new Library on Pratt Street in Starke opening sometime this year.



April is poetry month. Your Library has a variety of children's poetry to choose from.
"Runny Babbitt" by Shel Silverstien is silly rhyming fun for any age.
"Animal Snackers" by Betsy Lewin is a collection of short poems describing the eating habits of many animals. Children's poetry can be found in the 808 and 811 shelves of non-fiction books as well as many picture books located on the Easy shelves of the children's books.

Library Story times:

Family Nite @ the Library on Monday at 6:30 p.m.
Family Storytime programs for families who work during the weekdays. Children through grade five with an adult can enjoy books, stories, poetry, music and a craft activity.

Family Storytime on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m.
Storytime featuring books, stories, poetry, music and a craft activity for children with an adult.

Mother Goose Time on Thursday at 10:00 a.m.
Books, Mother Goose rhymes, stories, fingerplays and music for babies through 2 years old.



Beatrix Potter wrote picture letters to friends, particularly to children before becoming a published author. The charming stories of Peter Rabbit and his friends are books you will want to share with a child. Miss Potter's illustrations have endeared her writing to readers for over 100 years.
